Our [esc] fest Macabre & Mayhem Halloween film festival is back for 2025 and we want to showcase your best Halloween-inspired shorts. Think mystery, horror, psychological, thriller, bizarro, madness, freakshow, dark humor or any eerie vibe you'd like to share.

What is this event?
Macabre & Mayhem: Season 2 is a free virtual event where you join with a 3D avatar, chat with others, and watch new anime films in a multiplayer virtual theater—all from your browser.
Do I need to download anything?
Nope! Just use a desktop or laptop (Mac or PC) with a modern web browser and a good internet connection. No installs required.
Can I attend on my phone or tablet?
Not yet. Mobile support is coming soon, but for now, you’ll need a computer to fully experience the event.
How do I join the event?
Once you claim a free ticket, you’ll get a link to join via escape.ai. Just log in, pick an avatar, and jump into the virtual world.
What is the Creator Club?
The Creator Club is our pre- and post-show social space. It opens 1 hour before the screening, and stays open after the show for as long as guests want to hang out. Meet other fans, chat with creators, and play games in the virtual arcade!
Are tickets really free?
Yes! The entire experience is free—but tickets are limited, so grab yours early to guarantee a spot.
Can I talk with other people during the event?
Absolutely. You can voice chat and text chat with others in the Creator Club, and use emotes and text chat during the film screening.
Where are the controls?
After you enter, use your keyboard and mouse to move around. Emote buttons are in the lower-right corner. Voice and volume controls are in the center-bottom settings menu.
What if I can’t hear anything?
Make sure your browser tab isn't muted, and check your volume in both the system and event settings. You can mute/unmute yourself and others in the top-right menu.
