Lost films that never existed.

D.AI.V recovers films that were never made. Each one is built as if it had been shot decades ago and forgotten in an attic: a 1966 chanbara, a lost 1986 cop show episode, and more to come. The camera, the grain, the music and the mistakes belong to their era; the tools are from today. Directed by David André, a filmmaker with twenty years in broadcast production, using AI as a medium to make the films that history skipped.

HANA (1966)
D.AI.V
Recovered from an unlabeled VHS tape found in an attic: a 1966 chanbara that was never released. On the eve of winter, bandits burn a quiet village and carry off three of its women. One of them is Hana. Kaito, a merchant who once trained with the sword, never told her what she meant to him. Hana’s own father, the village elder, argues for caution. Kaito leaves anyway, followed by the few who have lost too much to stay: an archer whose daughter was taken, a blacksmith with his spear, a widower who no longer speaks of his wife, a knife fighter and his young apprentice, whom he never finished teaching. And somewhere among the bandits rides Renji, Kaito’s own brother. A 26-minute tale of rescue, revenge and the price of both, told in faded Eastmancolor, heavy grain and the sound of a lone shamisen in the wind. The opening credits are a fictional homage to classic Japanese cinema. No real actor’s likeness was used. Made with Seedance, Nano Banana, ElevenLabs, Suno and Premiere Pro.

Miami Crime (1986): The Boutique Job
D.AI.V
Episode 3 of a Miami cop show that never made it past its first season, recovered from an old home recording. Frank Sullivan is two years from retirement and the only detective in the precinct who actually solves cases. His partner, Tommy Blaze, has a pastel blazer, a pair of aviators and a gift for taking credit for everything he nearly ruins. When a lady in red and a trail of cocktails lead them to a downtown fashion boutique, Sullivan does the detective work, Tommy does the damage, and Captain Buffett does the shouting. Two more years. Just two more years. Starring Jack Marlowe and Rick Dawson. Finalist at the AI London Film Festival. Honorable Mention at the Rome AI Film Festival. Made with Seedance, Nano Banana, ElevenLabs, Suno and Premiere Pro.
